Trauma Scene Cleaning

Trauma Scene Cleaning

Our trauma cleaning services deal with sites where death has occurred, in a respectful and compassionate manner. We are here to take care of the unpleasant cleanup process, helping you to deal with the death of a loved one without added distress. Our service is designed to remove the threat of infection and restore the site back to its original condition.

What is a Trauma Scene?

Trauma scenes are areas in which human bodily fluids have contaminated the surrounding environment, usually after instances of:

  • Natural death
  • Homicide
  • Suicide
  • Unattended death
  • Serious injury

Biohazards at a trauma scene present many dangers such as risk of infection by harmful bacteria like e-coli, salmonella, legionnaires and MRSA, as well as risks posed by blood-borne viruses such as hepatitis-B virus (HBV) and human immunodeficiency virus (HIV).

Crime and Accident

Scenes where injuries, homicides or accidents have occurred are not only traumatic but also dangerous if they are not cleaned and treated correctly. The pathogens found in decomposing bodily fluids pose a serious threat to the safety of anyone in the surrounding areas of a trauma scene.

As part of our crime and accident services, we will secure the premises, safely dispose of all flies and maggots attracted to decomposing bodies; fully disinfect the area; and eliminate all biohazards and risks of infection. We will also clean up after forensic investigators who may leave traces of fingerprint powder or luminol.

Undiscovered Death

Human decomposition begins just twenty-four hours after death and the body starts to become fluid after just one month. Too often, deaths can go unnoticed for days, weeks or even months. It is in cases like this where extreme biohazard cleaning is required.

Our trauma scene experts will correctly dispose of all biohazards using clinical waste bags, wash all surfaces with detergents and then disinfect the entire area. We are fully trained to spot contaminations that may otherwise go unnoticed, such as harmful bacteria held in porous materials or dangerous air-borne spores.
